What is Vedic Meditation?

Vedic Meditation is an ancient meditation technique from India’s Vedic tradition, passed down through generations and preserved in its original form.

As you silently repeat a personal mantra, your mind naturally settles into quieter, more refined states of awareness. Your body can then experience deep rest, giving accumulated stress and tension the opportunity to release.

There is no need to concentrate, control your thoughts or try to empty your mind.

Practised for 20 minutes twice a day, it is a simple, effortless technique that can become a natural part of your everyday life.

How is Vedic Meditation different?

Many meditation practices work at the level of the mind, through focus, mindfulness or relaxation. Vedic Meditation works more deeply. As your mind settles beyond thought, your nervous system is given the opportunity to release deeply held stress.

Because your nervous system shapes how you experience the world, this gradually changes how you feel and respond to life, while expanding your awareness beyond everyday experience.

Your experience will be your own, but with regular practice you may begin to notice:

Feeling less stressed, anxious or tired

Better sleep and greater vitality

Greater mental clarity, focus and creativity

More emotional balance and resilience

More emotional balance and resilience

An increased ability to stay calm under pressure

A deeper sense of happiness, connection and fulfilment

“Little by little, the mind becomes more familiar with the deep peace that already exists within us.”

Meet Karen

I came to Vedic Meditation through curiosity and a desire to know myself more deeply. It brought more patience and ease to my relationships and, most importantly, transformed the relationship I have with myself. Teaching was the natural next step.

After many years of personal meditation and study, I completed immersive teacher training in India under Thom Knoles.

Being trained within a living tradition means I share the technique clearly and faithfully, while making it practical and relevant to modern life. I teach with warmth and respect for each person's experience.
